Rite of passage

All Seattle moms of 2 are entitled (and expected) to have a cadillac stroller for two! Not to be outdone Geoffrey bought me one, granted Lux is a bit squashed and I can't really get it in and out of the car byself, and there is really no room in the back of the car for Crash, no matter, we'll figure it all out! Birthday Loot!

We celebrated Lux's 4th birthday yesterday, and her 4th day of a high fever, but we managed to have some fun! I couldn't believe my weakness buying her total garbage! But shopping for your sweetie when she is sick, I couldn't resist getting her all that she wanted, plastic crap and all!!! Oddly enough her favorite gift was the 8 tiny sleeping bags loveingly made by nana for her small plastic animals. Her kid party is next week, sure to be fun and I imagine sure to be full of plastic crap that she loves so much!!

Memorial long weekend, first family of 4 trip!

We traveled as a family for the first time to Vancouver for my great aunt's 90th birthday party and reconnected with relys and friends in Vancouver (I also celebrated my 39th birthday, 39 how the hell did that happen). Here are some snaps.

Huxley weighs in...

Huxley at 6 weeks and 4 days is a whooping 9.9 pounds, 21.5 inches long - a shrimp to be sure, but growing! He has us up too frequently at night and when we think he's 10 pounds we will start letting him fuss a bit in his beddy (although certainly easier to get the little boy up, nurse quickly and put back to bed...). He had his first set of vaccinations and has felt pretty crummy since, low fever and fussy, lets hope his ailments pass soon.

Lux zero, coffee table one

Lux learned a valuable lesson on sunday, NOT to goof off around the furniture! She took a nose dive and landed cheek bone first on the coffee table. We took her later to U village where she barfed twice in the parking lot (her raspberry waffles) and then home for a monster nap. Of course she woke up like nothing happened and was well enough to make us a pizza for dinner (thanks Lux)! She commented later than anyone driving in her barf would have pink tires, because her throw up was pink. Is true, it was pink!

Cocktails!

so i have spent ALL week fussing about this house, literally HOURS on the phone with the lender, our contractor, the realtor etc, only to come to the conclusion that even though this is the ONLY house in laurelhurst we could afford, we can't afford it. what a pain in my ass this has been. had we NOT bought this house and merely rented for the past three years, we could easily be in the house but instead we own a house that we would get 100K less than what we paid (not counting the thousands we have spent on the house). story moral - buy the cheapest house in the best neighborhood, not the best house in the cheapest neighborhood. oh well what do they say about hindsight, well we don't have it (hindsight that is). so we'll stay in our good house in the shitty neighborhood and enjoy another idealic summer on our back deck having COCKTAILS, like we did today. and i'm pretty happy about that!

yippee huxley slept until 3:15 last night and then until 7:00 am, yeah! he is 5 weeks today, i'm expecting him to smile at one of us anyday, he is so close, i can see it in his eyes.

Just a rainy afternoon

I picked Lux up from afternoon group today and the kids were playing musical chairs. Lux proudly announced that she was the "first out" three times, apparently she forgot our family motto "we play to win"!

mom to two beautiful kids - daughter lux columbia born 5/30/2005 and son huxley alexandre born 4/9/2009, hence xmomma. how did i end up with these two precious kiddos...it sort of snuck up on me, one day no kids, the next day two of them.

so may 11, huxley is 4 weeks 4 days old and 8.2 pounds, sort of a small guy with early indications that he will be a momma's boy.
