Huxley has had a long bad cold and I finally took him in to the Dr today (on a saturday), poor bugger has an ear infection, I knew something was up he's been pretty out of sorts and has goop coming out of every part of his body. so not a year and already on antibiotics. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come or a pattern. Lux is nearly 5 and has NEVER had an ear infection and only had her first antibiotics a few months ago after a round of strep throat. after a good afternoon nap and his first dose of meds and he seems to be feeling better.
he is 20 pounds!
Lux went to bed 2 hours after her bedtime last night and is a monster today - good times. Heres to everyone being in bed asleep by 7 pm.

Bedtime
bedtime at our house, never too early to start potty training. second time on the pot huxley peed and pooped, what a clever boy! each day he is doing more and more, now attempting to say "oh", and definitely is now signing "more". they enjoy playing together so much - they can keep one another entertained. lux is amazingly patient with him and amazingly gentle and attentive, they adore one another (although we think about the day that they don't).
a few bonus snaps of huxley under the bed - he is everywhere, under the bed, under the sofa, under the table...

Huxley on the cusp
I remember Lux at this special age - 11 months and on the cusp of SO much and trying to grasp at everything - and that is our son Huxley - already 11 months.
Tonight i put him to bed and he waved bye bye to us all - just one of his many new tricks! He is back to doing "more" after a month or so hiatus (not sure if his sign of more means more or yeah or what...but it is communication and we'll take everything we can get). He also kisses, open mouth and all, and I'm sure he knows the word, when you ask for a kiss he is only too happy to oblige. He also has a look - hard to describe so we will get a snap of it for sure. But he is figuring it out and easy to cry when we are happy, missing our signs and cues but desperately searching for what they are.
We hosted our mommy group 1st birthday on sat and it was so cute to see the babies toddle about. Huxley was trying to kiss anyone who would sit still long enough he would put their head in his hands and pull them in for a kiss, it was hilarious. otherwise he cried when we were out of his site and crawled into my lap when i was in his site.
Here our some recent snaps and a promise I will post more frequently.
Hello! I'm back
woow, its been awhile, everyday I say "I need to spend time on my blog", but the day comes and goes. WTMY (welcome to my world) - the life of 2 very busy, working adults and two little kids, I often wonder how long we can maintain, this pace of not letting anything slip, staying ahead of the curve even if it means keeping a sprinting pace while doing so.
geoffrey was gone for part of the week last night and the kids and i did fine, i sort of wondered how i would do. i can't sleep though when he is gone, always wondering if someone will break in and get the kids and i won't wake up, crazy, since a) it would never happen and b) i would for sure wake up!
we also returned from a few glorious days in vancouver at the olympics, i went with my mom and nieces to the figure skating and it was fantastic to attend an event and be in a crowd that seemed to egg each skater on and cheer and clap for everyone - i sort of thought "only in canada" but maybe its like that everywhere.
attaching a few snaps of our trip there and will do a separate post about the kids - as huxley changes every every day!
